Over the years our family has made several kinds of cookies for Christmas. Many of the recipes my mother took straight from Betty Crocker's Cookbook, circa 1978. One, in particular, is a traditional Puerto Rican cookie from my great-grandmother's cookbook that she modified, and then passed on to my mother who made her adjustments, before making it to me, where I made a few changes of my own.
